In 2024, we received a €377,520 grant from the European fund for a new photovoltaic system that will enable the resort to improve energy efficiency with renewable resources and reduce its carbon footprint.
The new system will be installed on the roofs of several buildings, covering a total area of approximately 804 square meters. It includes the installation of monocrystalline panels with Half-Cut cell technology for high performance and reliability, and certification in line with international standards IEC 61215 and IEC 61730, as well as IEC 61701 and IEC 62716 to ensure functionality in aggressive environments (salt spray and ammonia).
It is estimated that between 2024-2025, the new photovoltaic panels will increase the current percentage of on-site renewable electricity production from the photovoltaic system from 0.6% to 6.7% of total consumption needs. In terms of CO2 emissions, the production of approximately 210,000 additional kWh of green energy will help prevent around 57 tCO2 equivalent emissions from being released into the atmosphere.
This 177.2 kW photovoltaic system will actively contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adopting more sustainable business practices. This project represents a significant step toward a more sustainable future, underscoring Palazzo di Varignana's commitment to environmental and social responsibility
