Enveloped by the magic quiet of the Bolognese hills, the Palazzo di Varignana resort looks over the town from which it takes its name. The heart of the Resort is Palazzo Bentivoglio, a country castle with four traditional towers dating back to 1705, renovated respecting the charm of its history. The main historic building is surrounded by a contemporary village built in stone, according to a coherent and harmonious architecture with the surrounding landscape. Around the complex extend 30 hectares of land divided between vast green spaces, parks, water sources and breathtaking views. Palazzo Bentivoglio

History

Palazzo Bentivoglio, a country castle with four traditional towers, was built in 1705 by Francesco Angiolini, one of the most famous architects of the 18th-century in Bologna and take its name from the senatorial family that owned it.

The stuccoes, both monochrome and patinated, the frescoes and the furnishings quality, shaping multiple rooms rich in eclectic references, which preserve the elegant spirit typical of that architectural period. The staircase, the loggia, the vaulted ceilings, the wall decorations and the fabric and brocade coverings, results of a recent renovation made in the respect of the palace's history charm, welcome guests in a charming and evocative atmosphere.

Palazzo Bentivoglio is dedicated to hospitality and today lends some halls to the fine dining restaurant Il Grifone, a culinary corner of excellence.
